Any one recover their seats in the past? I was woundering just how hard it is to do. How much time does it take, and if I took it to a shop how much might they charge. Its for a 71. I have the covers, new padding and all the hardwear.

I can''t help ya with the recovering, but I can tell you that I bought new seat covers and cushions that were already assembled. All I had to do was pull out the old seat bottom and back, and put in the new assemblies.
Sounds easy, right?
Wrong!
Took me almost 6 hours for one seat! The metal frame in the cushion that has to snap into the seat frame was recessed so far into the foam that it made it next to impossible to snap them into place. I had to do some major prying, foam ripping and pain to get just the one seat finished. I haven''t done the other one yet. I''m too affriad of going through the same crap!
Good Luck!
