Very, very sad. I have my car up on 4 jack stands that are rates to hold 4X the weight of the car, plus 2 additional stands for safety and I still get nervous...

Very sad indeed.
I had my burb up on four jack stands Easter week end. I was very aware of proper placement plus left the floor jack in place as a back up.

Vette(s): 1982,150K,Renegade CFI,Hooker Side Pipes,85 fuel pump,Bilsteins,HD suspension, Aluminum radiator, SharkBar/w 5-Point Restraints. 3:73 gears coming soon.
Sad story, but happens quite a lot!
I always use a jack stand with a floor jack whenever I'm under a car - when I was 16, had a '71 GMC PU fall just after I got out from under it.... I was one of the lucky ones!

Good idea to be reminded whenever anyone is working under a car!

Prayers to his family.
