Hi Vetheads. Can you tell me who makes the best repair manual? I have a Haynes but am wondering if there's better. Thanks, Terry |wink|

Vette(s): 1982 2 TONE BLUE W/ 24,100 ORGINAL MILES. MINT SHAPE
Hi All,
The Haynes is a good manual but it seems limited on some things. I use the orginal GM for my 82 it seems to be more detailed on most items.

The one I don't care much for is the Chiltons, it wonders all over the place.

Hope this little bit helps. |wavey|

Vette(s):
SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe
If you don't have an Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) in your garage library I'd recommend getting one of them. Lots of great detail on how your car is put together.

I like the original GM manual. You can usually find them on ebay or order them from helminc.com

Get the Original GM. Ebay, or most of the catalogs sell re-prints.

As mentioned, the original GM service manual for your car is the best way to go, along with the AIM. You would be surprised at the amount of usefuel info in the AIM. Go to www.ncrs.org and click on the store logo. Buy your publications directly from them and they will ship the same day.
