Now that I am ready to begin putting the entire interior back in the car, is it better to put in the carpeting first with the seats to make it easier to put the dash and wiring back in? or do I put the dash and wiring back in first so I do not risk damaging the carpet.

Has anyone else gone through this that might have so insight?

Please Keep in mind that there is nothing except the dash pad in the car. Everthing else has been removed for repair or replacement.

Thanks!

Bill

I put the new carpet back in before the dash. That gave the carpet a little settle time before I put all the trim pieces back in place. The seats went in almost last.

Bill,
When I did My car I put the wiring the dash except for the center counsel befor the carpet. That way I was able to hide any wires I needed to. Good Luck! |saluteflag|

Seats go in last. You might want to remove the dash pad before doing the wiring on the driver's side instrument console, makes getting to the wires and harness straps a lot easier.

I tried to remove the dash pad and caused a slight crack which is easily repairable.

I tried, as suggested in previous post, but it will not come out without destroying it or so it seems. It is as stiff as a 2 x 4 until it gets to 90 degrees outside.

I welcome any more suggestions short of taking the windshield out.

I got the main harness out with the pad in and I know it will be a royal PITA to get the speedo and tach cables reconnected. I was thinking that hooking up the clusters might be easier if I do not attach the fuse block to the car until I have all the wiring properly hooked up.

What do you think?

Thanks!

Bill
