The Blackbook does a great job of listing the numbers of cars, options colors and so on.  Is there another source  where it further breaks down the data?  For example, for a certain year, how many blue, red etc 4 speed convertibles were made?

Not really.  For most of the C3 production run, GM did not keep statistics on interior color combinations or specifically where the 4 speeds went (coupe/convertible), etc.  As an example, existing statistics may say there were 10,000 white cars in a hypothetical production year, 6500 convertibles, 12,000 four speeds, and 4500 cars with red interiors, but you are not likely to find records for the exact number of white, 4 speed convertibles with red interiors for that year.

Mike's right on. In 2000, I bought a new millenium yellow/torch red interior convertible and pursued this topic with the factory. I learned that even as we entered a new century, BG accomplished this by having graduate students go through stacks of invoices for the previous year adding up all these combinations. I learned that my combo was one of fifteen with those three RPO's.

but the lesson is do you really think the factory cared in the 70's about keeping statistics? No...they were building and selling Corvettes. they kept basic manufacturing statistics...no one was looking for more.
