Having trouble getting my picture up. Just getting a red X in a box. Whats up? I'm taking the picture from a file on my computer, not a picture host. |headscratch|

In order to have the picture show up it must be online. Since you're a Gold member it's even easier as you get space here on C3VR to store pics and what not.

Follow this link for a great set of instructions on everything you need to know.

I have my picture stored in my C3 file and added it my signature like the instructions say, it still does not show up. I tried to use different size photo also with no luck. I also wonder how some pictures are so sharp and other have the digital blocks in them. When I go to the web address and look at my picture, it is blocky and does not have sharp lines. I don't know how to make a click hyperlink for this picture.

Just curious as to whether or not you are putting the address between the tags. When the IMG things show up the address of the pic and links as well when it says URL, need to be between the two. You're probably already doing that, just thought I'd check. The "blocky" looking picture is a product of the pic itself. When you resize and save most major editors give you a choice of the quality of your JPG or other file type. The lower quality the smaller file size. good luck!

Rob,

Davii is right on the money with how to get the IMG and URL tags to work. Click on the 'Reply' icon to my reply and then click on the 'Quote' button to see the actual syntax for both.

Great looking ride...!!! |thumb| |thumb| |thumb|

btw - this makes the little image a 'hot link' to the bigger image, like I use in my signature.

Thanks for the help, both of you. I wasn't putting the address between the two words. Now I understand. I'm trying to add a hot link, copied and pasted the one you sent to my signature. Hope it works.
Will taking a picture with a digital make it less blocky? I scanned a picture, then resized it.
Thanks agian.

Some graphics software packages handle image resizing better than others. But in general the more you change the size of the image (from really big to really small, or really small to really big) the more the impact on the quality of the final image.

If you're going to go for different sized images using a digital camera most have settings on them that will let you change the size of the image the camera captures and stores. Then when resizing work with the image that is closest in size to the desired final image size. The less you change the size the better the quality of the final image. Hope that makes some sense. |confusing| I'm sure there are some folks out there who are more versed in image publishing and digital cameras than I to add-on to and/or correct my babbling.

I also like the side pipes. What year is that and what is your header/pipe combo?

It's a 77 with awith an older 350.I also put a mild cam and a 4 row radiator in it. The sidepipes are old Thrush sidepipes. They are all aluminum with the part between the front and the tips has fins. It's one of those storys you hear about finding things in old barns. As far as hooking then up well that is is a little of sadetree mechanic.I took off the old exhaust except for the y pipe that I cut in half and turned them out. Then I took alittle bit of HD flex pipe so the engine can move a little and hooked it up to the sidepipes. Then I have the longes Cherrybombs I could fit inside .This worked great and it sounds wonderful. No need for a radio in this Vette. I also have the Steriods Rack and Pinion steering system and love it. |cheers|
