Vette(s): 1969 Vette, Daytona Yellow original paint and black leather interior. Only 54,589 original miles and full documentation and original window sticker. This vette comes with 350/350 4 speed, factory AC, ps,pb, AM/FM stereo and luggage rack.
I have a 1969 Corvette with the AM/FM stereo radio. It still goes on and you can barely hear it. Do you know any place where you can get it fixed or rebuilt or replace it with the original radio? Thanks

You might just try checking the speakers, if they are original, they will be shot. I replaced both of mine, they were TOAST ( crumbs? ) - not an easy job but fortunately not too expensive. If you have the radio repaired I would most definitely replace those speakers!!!

I brought mine to my local chevy dealer, he sent it out to someone they use. worked great. after all that I replaced it with a kenwood corvette radio. Still have the stock radio.

John,

You can have the original components repaired back to 1969 or you can have the guts of the radio upgraded with current components while keeping the look of an original radio.

I will probably be sending my original radio to a guy in PA who replaces the internals with modern electronics (140 watts) that can support an external CD player or Satellite radio.  I am hoping that he can leave a hidden pigtail for an I-Pod, but I'm not having this done foir a while.

A friend of had his 'stang radio redone & he is quite happy.

He is listed in Hemmings, although there are several companies that handle this type of work.

oeps , with my sidepipes i didn't notice there was a radio on board... you could be right , in the middle , with 2 big knobs.... sorry kidding .

If he plays it's ok for me and if i want modern stuff i should add some plugg-in/out in the luggage compartment .... and a extra battery  ... You never can expect modern quality of those days radios i think.

BTW , how did they get stereo with 1 antenna ?
