I'm wanting to replace my electronic oil pressure gauge with a mechanical gauge.
I have a 1975 Stingray and have replaced the oil sensor 3 times in the last 13 months.
Anyone have input on whether the switch out can be done, and (where can I find) a factory type mechanical oil pressure gauge that "will mount in place" of the current gauge ?
Appreciate any help I can get!
Thanks in advance, Phil

Hello, If the block has a small plug on the left rear behind the intake, it's possible. Just need the plumbing kit, and the guage.

I have a 454HO Gen VI (2006) & took out the sensor near the oil filter and ran a copper line to the oil gauge many yrs ago. no problems. Just make sure all your connections are secure , use the right sealing tape and check for leaks.

Why don't you start a new thread for your overheating problem. This is an old thread.

Well first I would get rid of the 50/50 mixture. Use distilled water and only enought anti freeze to keep corrosion down ,say around 20%. Then add a can or 2 of water wetter. Make sure all the air around the radiator is blocked off so all air has to go thru the radiator. Decrease your timing a degee or so will help also. A good spoiler will help too. I've got a 454 and it runs 172-180 all day. I have a flex fan on that one.
