Need Help. My odometer on my 72 is not working (speedo works fine). Took the speedo out and took it apart and found that the black gear at the magnet drive is striped. A new speedo head is $275.00 
I called several places and they can rebuild it for $245.00 
Any one know of a place that I can get the parts to repair it myself.

You may want to locate a used head. Speedo repair is sorta a big legal issue for some places. If you can find a used speedo head with good gears, you can replace it like that, or swap the parts yourself, but...it's a tedious job, imho.
Maybe someone here has an old one they will get rid of...

We have a used '72 complete speedometer for $100.00 if you don't find the gears. Obviously someone has them, since they rebuild the speedos, but I couldn't find on among our usual sources.
