I think you did pretty good. I paid $5000 8 yrs. ago for my '81. Mine was pretty neglected during it's life. So I built it the way I thought GM should have built it. IMO, since '81's will probably never reach "Midyear" status or value. I would do up your vette as the way you want it. It's a blank canvas for you to create a work of art.

Just don't get carried away with it like I did mine. $25k later and I'm still not satisfied. Yikes!
