I just replaced the front shocks on my '72 T Top with Koni [red] adjustables. I have had a couple of non Corvette guys telling me they have to be adjusted before being fitted and others telling me just fit them straight out of the box as I did..
I would appreciate forum members input on this, thanks

So you should have the 8040 1019 Classic Red shocks for the front. This is the part number listed on Koni's website for '63-'82 Corvette.
Here is the adjustment procedure for these shocks as per Koni.

GEN III 5.7L "LS6" Engine swap
TKO500 5 spd.

3.54 Dana 44
'69 "N11" Sidepipes
Borgeson Steering Box
Born 8/1981
Sequence #3975

Thanks for the reply and the Koni link, it doesn't state whether the shocks have to be adjusted before being installed so I'm still not sure..

Before installation.

The shocks may or may not be at the same setting out of the box. One may be a turn or two different from the other one. So it is good to check them before installation to get a baseline setting to work off of and adjust as necessary.
