First things first...I'd like to start by saying what a wonderful site this is. I have spent the last couple of hours just "surfing" this site and am very happy and proud to be a C3 owner. I've just recently landed a "SHARK" that I've been looking for for awhile (3yrs). It's a Silver '80 L48 automatic, mirrored t-tops,aluminum wheels with 54k(pic coming soon). Not sure about matching #'s yet. Been to busy enjoying the ride. Runs great.Needs paint and some other (what I'm hoping to be)minor things i.e. weatherstripping, updated radio & speakers, and carpeting. Any help/feedback/tips/tricks/comments about these things or anything else would be a great help. Thanks again for a great site.

Welcome to C3VR. You'll learn a lot here. Regarding the updated stereo... An important question to ask yourself is, do you want to keep the stock look or a more modern headunit that may require you to do some cutting? I chose a newer pioneer headunit and had to cut my center guage panel. I was worried to do it at first, but once it was done I liked it and didn't mind that it had been cut.

Hi
Welcome.
Don't worry about numbers matching, you don't want to give it away anymore, do you ?
Numbers matching is only for more money when you sell.
Of course, you still want to know.
My car is a non matching car. Can you see it from the pic ?
Good luck and don't hesitate asking questions.
Remember, there is no such thing like a stupid question, but many stupid answers.
Good luck, Gunther

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
Vettes are great aren't they?
My vette has the original radio and speakers, and back in 79 I didn't realize how bad the audio equip was. I would like to change mine also, but I'm trying to keep it in original cond. So I have to listen to the shabby sounds of an ancient stereo. Oh well, that is what I have to do to keep it original...
