Vette(s): 82 Collector Edition (*sold 12/2006)
I'm hoping you guys will help me out here. I lent my catalog binder out to a friend, and now I need a source or two or three for new gills for my baby. If any of you know of a good place to get them, good pricing and can get them here in a few weeks, please let me know. They are preparing her for paint this week as fas as I know. I believe they are black plastic.

Maybe I should have said side vents? They go below the side badging, in the darkest part of my side stripes. Do they still have them? Any way that you could look it up for me? I have nothing here other than websites, and those aren't listed. Not too popular I guess. lol

OK..understand what you mean now..thought you were talking the the CUSTOM ''gills'' that I put on the top of my fenders.
Don't have the Ecklers catalog here right now..Hubby took it to work with him.
..will get him to bring it home tomorrow and will get back to you.

Hey Darla. Why not paint them like I did. They look like brand new and the trim paint by SEM is a perfect match. I Have the code if you need it. Let me know

I like the "gills" on the side of vettes. I was thinking about getting a set for mine. But I'm not to sure. How do they attach? If its nothing permanent, I may try them out. I want some chrome looking ones too.

Dale, mine attatch with small torx head screws. one on op, and one on bottom, through a flange inside of the gill. Does yours have any now? I think you can get chrome ones from either Ecklers or mid America.

Nope. I don't have any on my vette now. So I guess that means I'd have to drill into the fiberglass? I probably won't do that if that is the case. I don't like doing anything permanent to the body of my vette.

Hi you guys....maybe I will just paint them. I don't know yet. I don't know if they come in that dark brown color. Do they? I should put new one's on since she's getting new nose and gas door emblems and new crossfire one's too. Any help here would be great. :) I'll be doing my parts hunting tomorrow. The insurance will cover the parts if I can come up with receipts. Too bad I bought new emblems 4 years ago for another 82 CE. Oh well, at least I've got the new one's to put on! lol
