Yeah right. I have been riding the Harley while getting the gas tank on the Vette. Last night on the way home my rear brake caliper froze up. Fortunately I was going very slow. I had to move the bike out of traffic and in doing it, I smoked my clutch. oowwwww. So now the Vette has to wait for more goodies. I just hope that I can get the tank on the Vette before anything else breaks. |hammer|

sorry to hear of your bad news. fortunately harley clutches are pretty rugged, when it cools off it might be as good as new. did you try bleeding fluid by cracking the banjo fitting, maybe it is the master cylinder. joe

I bet if you sell that Harley, you could fix every little problem you have with the Vette. Then you would not have to sell rides or listen to me. You won't have to listen to me cause you will be out on the road in the Vette and not typing.

If that would have happened while you were like on the freeway or something, wouldn't you have gone down? I don't like bikes all that much. I mean, I think they're cool, they're just not for me. I have seen some drop dead one's lately. Seems like they're all out lately cuz it's been so hot here. What Glenn said! |biggrin|

Hey Glenn, as a matter of fact, I was going to sell the Harley, but not to get the cash. I was going to buy a newer model. Mine has 92,000 miles on it, so they didnt want to give me anything for it. $9,000 for an 88 Immaculate Dresser. You know the story, wow high miles on that machine, but if the dealer has it, they are either low or average miles.

Yep, Joe I did bleed the caliper, that is how I finally got it moving, only to discover that I smoked the clutch. Some Harley clutches are very strong, unfortunately mine was not. I thought the same thing, but the next day when I tried to move it, the facts were clear - no clutch. Since there is a big rally this weekend, I had a dealer take it to the shop in hopes of getting it back today or tomarrow morning.

I guess I gotta start asking you guys how to make extra money. I can only afford one toy !
Come on Rick, fess up, what's the secret, you been selling rides for a long time haven't you?
I took a look at a red 2000 convertible with 3400 miles on it last week. Dealer wanted 46.9K for it. WAY too rich for my blood. I think I can get a new one fully loaded through BJs Wholesale for 51K and change.

What, Glenn, you looking at a C5? Say it isnt so. Actually I just bought a second motorcycle. For investment purposes only you see. I may give rides on it to help finance my 4 wheeler and the new garden tractor. Hey, by the way Glenn dont you owe me 2 cents? |laugh|

Actually it is just a Cub Cadet lawn tractor. I use my quad to do the hauling so I dont scratch up the shiny Cub cadet. I gave my garden tractor to my son. I dont have a garden---my wife does.
