I couldn't find a set high enough either so I built my own out of 2x12's and 3/4" plywood. 44" detachable incline to a 12" high platform, 13" wide and 14" long. still use jackstands for safety though.

A Kwik-Lift has been on my wish list for quite awhile now. They had a booth setup at the MSRA 'Back to the 50s' show last month. Even my bride was impresssed with the setup (not enough to let me buy one tho'! ).

The Rhino ramps are nice, just too low for most of us to use.

I have a set of Rhino Ramps that I have had for about 10 years now. They are all I use for all of my vehicles. I have been happy with mine.

Recommend you bite the bullet and buy a 4 post lift. See 4 post lift on ebay where one can be had for $1850. Not that much more than quicklift. Got one and it is great. Safe also.

I have an old set of steel ramps. Similar to any old style ramp. They work under the rear fine. They also work under the front, but my front spoiler is missing. You can use the old ramps with 2X12 board on the ramp to extend the length. Drill a hole through the end of the board and the ramp so you can drop a bolt through and hold the board in place. You don't need a nut on the bottom. And the board can be removed once the car is on the ramp to allow more access room. Granted, I can't use a creeper and fit under the car on ramps. I have an old blanket that hits the gravel, and I crawl.

I just used the Rhino ramps for the first time today to change the oil on my vette. They worked great and I had plenty of room to work under there and I was on a creeper.

Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.

i WAS GOING TO BUY A KWIK LIFT DUE TO THE HIEGHT RESTRICTION IN THE GARAGE AND THE FACT THAT I HAVE TO HAVE ROOM FOR THE WHEEL CHAIR RAMP SO THE FOUR POST IS OUT

. BUT I NEVER EVER HEARD ANY ONE TALK ABOUT THEM, SO I FIGURED THEY WEREN'T THAT GOOD. SAW ONE LAST YEAR AT THE PORTLAND SWAP MEET FOR $800.00 OBO (ALSO SEEN HARDTOP FOR $600.00 OBO) SHOULD HAVE SPENT SOME CASH LAST YEAR ON GOODIES INSTEAD OF TICKETS.

I have a set of steel ramps that have some plastic 'inserts' that go in front for lower cars.Havent even tried them on my vette sinced its been lowered 1.5 inches.But I wonder if you could attach a longer 2 x 10 or something under the whole ramp setup to raise the whole thing up another couple inches? Long enough to graduate it up to the required heighth & make it so its attached somehow & safe?

I have a Kwiklift and it works great. I changed a motor in my Street rod this spring with it on the lift and it worked super. I put my Vette on it and polish the chrome underneath it. Going to use it to change the rear spindles here shortly. They are really sturdy units. A good creeper with an adjustable head rest helps too. It keeps your head supported while you work. I got my Kwiklift on ebay for $400.00. And the next week I talked to Dan of Kwiklift at " Back to the 50's" and he offered to buy it for $1000.00. He says that any used Kwiklift he will buy back for $1000.00 so if your space is limited I would go with the lift.
