Jim, that a real nice piece, the one on the Motion tribute car is what I was looking for. I would definately consider the one you have  if i could get it with the base plate polished. I going to give the guy a call and see if that is possilble, Bob

Rob,

In case I failed to mention it - there is no need to order the center locking piece as it will not work on our cars without fabricating an inner ring to attach it to.

Bob,

He does have the style that is featured on the Motion car but the the base is only 5.25 inches OD on the attachment ring and therefore not much to hang it with. I did ask him about fabricating the true Lemans Roller like the Motion car with a 6" OD base, leaving the ID and rest of the unit the same but he could not understand my question over the phone in terms of the custom base so I just took a gamble on this one for the looks as the size was right.
If someone could meet this guy in person to explain on paper or could send him a CAD rendering of the Motion Cap with a 6 inch OD base I am sure he could make it.

I am interested but if I buy it I would want it pretty quick. I am waiting to hear from the body shop as to when they want me to bring my car and I would just take the gas cap and let them put it on the car.
After looking at these cars I am thinking about how I could  incorporate the stripes on my '75. I have made plans on Ghost Flames....now it is a toss up. I will probably stay with the flames.
With the '75 I am always looking at ways to add more of a chrome look. I will give the guy a call.

Paul,

When looking at the devaluation of my 401K for last monthCry....... it would have been money well spent to buy that car based on anticipated future value

Went out to the web site last week and it now states that they have a limited amount in stock, so I ordered one.  Came in today.  Nice piece of work he does!!

Jim, what hardware did you use to mount it?  It didn't come with any.  Did you make a template to align and drill the holes?
Thanks - Rob

Vette(s): 68 COUPE 454 HAS MOTION HOOD SCOOP, REVERSED GILLS ZL-1 FENDER FLARES AND MOTION REAR SPOILER, LEMAN'S GAS CAP, BUCKET HEADLIGHTS. CAN-AM FRONT RACING SPOILER. CHROME HOOKER HEADERS AND SIDE PIPES! 4 SPEED M20, LOOKS FAST STANDING STILL !!
say,
i  just bought one of these caps off e-bay, and it looks exactly like the picture on scott drakes site.
it was listed as a "cobra style" cap. looks real nice, but i think i may have to make an adapter to fit the opening in the body. if i set it in place the screw holes have nothing to bolt to.
maybe if the original gas bezel was there it might work.
not sure how the original motion caps mounted, never seen one up close yet, maybe i can get an idea when i do !
any motion vettes out there with some close ups of how the gas cap mounts????
thanks,
joe

oh, jimmyv69, nice lookin vette !
