Lots more pics of real MEN racing...

I love this stuff, 'cause I'm old enough to have been right in the middle of it. I remember some of these cars when they were racing...and kickin booty....ahhhhhh....da good ol days, eh?

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
Ok, so lots of the pix I see of old C3 Racers all appear to be Convertibles with Hardtops.  Is that right?  If so, why did they choose verts as opposed to T-Tops?

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Lot easier to install roll bars/cages in a convert...and they're not as prone to make the drivers pass out from the heat. Certain race sanctioning bodies also allowed converts to run a little lighter weight than coupes/sedans, and the aerodynamics were usually better....
