It'll bolt right on Rick...no problem.
Be sure to check the surface of the manifold around the thermostat housing, and around the water jackets where it bolts to the heads. A lot of those aluminuminum manifolds have corrosion in those areas that cannot be fixed easily. Check it well before making the trade. Make sure the threads for the thermostat housing and the carb bolts are not stripped.

It will fit if it hasn't been machined to fit heads that have been machined or if your heads haven't been machined and the aluminum manifold is virgin.
Other than a small weight savings and appearance, is there another reason to switch?

Ya..the L82 manifolds were pretty much the same design as the cast iron/L48 manifolds...just cast from aluminuminum. No real performance gain other than the difference in heat absorbing properties, and a few pounds of weight. They do look better, tho.

Rick, aren't your side pipes worth a little more than an a alu. manifold???

For whatever it's worth, I have a Cyclone Plus dual plane manifold and a Holley Street Avenger 770 cfm carb. They fit fine under the stock hood of my '80 and look pretty good, too.
