So, I'm new to the C3VR forum, but have been looking for a Shark for a number of months. I located a beauty up near Rochester, NY, almost four hours from my home in central NYS, a 1979 dark blue 4-speed with dual carbs, chromed-out engine compartment, Centerforce performance clutch, custom upholstered interior and side pipes, not to mention numerous other upgrades and modifications for an amazing price, near the low end of my buying range. Two Forum members, Sarge81 and 68vet427, drove an hour or more from their homes to help the newbie inspect this car. Having passed muster with Darryl and Joe on Saturday, I drove up on Monday to purchase the car, $1K less than the seller's asking price. I have landed a beautiful Blue Shark! Thanks, guys, for your invaluable assistance!

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.
2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
If Sarge said the car was good, then you're in good shape
Congratulations on your acquisition! Is this your first Vette?
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

ebo, I have you to thank for putting me in touch with Sarge!
You Da Man !!! Got her plated and insured yesterday, and drove her to school today. The fourth grade boys were out of their minds with excitement. Can't wait for you to see it! Weather permitting, I'll drive it up to the next MVCC meeting. Will post some pics later this evening.

C3VR family, I want to once again thank you for being the great group that you are!
When Rudy joined this group and I saw how close to my home town his location was, we started chatting and he drove up to one our local meetings to meet me.
We talked about finding him a Vette and assured him that a keeper would be found. I told him no matter where in the USA he found a vette that he was interested in, this family would be right by his side to make sure it was a solid ride.
Rudy and I went back and forth looking at a dozen vettes. One was in Ct. I PM'd Mark (Silverfox) a lifetime member to see if he could check out a silver anniv within a 30 minute drive of him. Mark said sure. Now I have never met Mark (yet) but that was not an issue.
Thanks Mark!
When Rudy told me he found one near Buffalo I put in a message to my buddy Darryl and of course he had no problem at all. Then wild man Joe came sliding in with his Motion Clone and about broke all the windows at the dinner they gathered at before going with Rudy to check out this vette.
Their experience I'm sure helped the seller make the right deal with Rudy.
It's so nice to see this type of closeness in this group, it's always a pleasure to spend someone else's money!
Again a huge Thank You! to every member on this site for being who you are!
