Hey Dwight, thanks for the e-mail address. Unfortunely they are asking about $80.00 more for less coverage, so I guess I will stick with St. Farm. I'm sure these higher rates are because I live in Florida. I also have 6 other policies with St. Farm, possibly thats another reason reason for my lower rate. Gene

Well, I check out with the dealer/manufacturer first, and if I got a really good deal, that's when I look for an 'appropriate' insurance company.______________

I have my '73 convertible insured with State Farm for an agreed value of $25,000. I have 100,000/300,000,25,000 PLPD with a $250. dedeuctable on the collision.
Driving is limited to occasional ? pleasure driving and the regular parade, club and show activities but there is no specific mileage restriction. Maybe it's because I'm in PA but I pay $68.84 every 6 mos. or about $138 a year.
I've had no claims and I have no complaints. They only want to see pictures every couple of years to verify there is no damage.

I have been shopping myself recently and have been getting prices higher than what has been qouted here from some of the same companies. Either they charge more for our older cars or maybe the region I live in. Nicer weather to drive more often. I`ll keep searchin`

You got a quote from ACI ? You can actually see it online (or a 2 minutes phone call). All you will need is a picture of your car.
My '74 at 15k was about 100$/year with them.
Actually, you don't need a quote from them, just download the application form for FL; the price is pretty much fixed (http://www.americancollectorsins.com/fl.htm)
The bottom of the first page is the calculation sheet for the premiums.

Wow I am really lucky. I have Farm Burea Classic Car coverage. $15,000.00 / $500.00 deductable. Garage kept & drive less than 2000 yearly. $60.00 a year. Don't know if my "other" policies have a bearing on this or not. (additional 5 auto & 19 residental) Irregardless Tux.. is by far the cheapest driving piece of equipment I own...

I don't know what Grungy is doing, but by the sound of it they've made some changes.
I've been using Grundy's for my 74 for the last 3 years, why would they refuse to take on a 74 now ?
I have no complaints about them. I pay $252 a year, I'm covered for 500,000/300,000/250,000 and an agreed value of $35,000. with no deductible. I can drive anytime and anywhere as long has it's not for daily use to work, food shopping etc.

Who are you guys recommending for classic car insurance? I have Hagerty's on my other money pit, but continuously receive flyers when ordering parts from Eckler's regarding Vettes, but I threw them away.
[/QUOTE]I have Hagerty also for the past 2 years and only made one claim. It was a medical claim since i ruptured my Achilles tendon trying to push it off the road... I didn't know it until I called them, about claiming the towing. When I told them what happened.. they said I could file a medical claim since I had medical coverage.. no questions asked, and they sent a check in about 3 weeks. Didn't matter if i had health insurance paying for it. It did supplememnt what my health insurance didn't cover
