New to the forum and wanted to let you know that my updating process for my 68 is being documented if you want to follow.
This is what I'm starting with:
68 Corvette, Silverstone Silver, 35,000+ miles/Black Leather Interior / Aluminum Cylinder Head Equipped (L89) / 4 – Speed Close Ratio Transmission / AM/FM radio / tinted glass / head restraints / special-purpose suspension / 435 hp turbo-jet V8 / telescopic steering wheel / I am the original owner.
Here's where I'm going:
Ridetech coil over system / Wilwood Brakes / ZZ427 Crate Motor / Fuel Injection / keeping the Rock Crusher / Wheels & Tires / etc.
Yep, modifying numbers matching car. I want reliable, user friendly toy.

Sounds like an interesting project. I checked out the RideTech website and I was wondering how you determine which spring to get with the shocks. Also wouldn't you have to beef up the rear upper shock mounts for it to be able to support the weight of the vehicle?

Tech guy that I talked to at RideTech was very knowledgeable and had a good handle on which way to go with springs to meet my particular goals. The coil over system for the rear requires an entirely new rear crossmember which provides the rear upper shock mounts.

I like it. Can't quite figure out the lower shock mounting points from the picture. Looks like you don't replace the entire crossmember, you just have some attachment points that look like they bolt on. Is that accurate? Is that a crate engine?
Edit: I just saw from the original post that it is a crate motor.

If you are going for user friendly, why not a 5 or 6-speed conversion?

Degree of difficulty! Full coil over with crate ZZ427 with Fuel Injection seemed like enough to tackle. Not doing any resto on frame this time, so body off at some point, then maybe make room for 6-speed.

Thought the installation of the Flow Master exhaust with headers might be interesting. I like the clean lines of the C3 and could never really love side pipes though I had some for a while. The Flow Master exit in the stock rear position and feature an X pipe to improve performance. I have headers on the big block so I needed to build a connection to the Flow Master system. If you're running the stock manifolds with stock downpipe, the X pipe will hook right up to it. The X pipe provides a unique sound.
