Hi all,
I took out the gas tank of my 71 today and found "GTR 11-11-70" engraved in the fiberglass above the tank. I assume this was done at the factory -- initials and date of production. Is this normal to find there?
Cheers,
Jason

Thanks for the welcome, Larry. Nice to see another Red Vette in these parts. I hope to get mine back on the road next spring.

Welcome to the Shark Tank, Jason!
You will find stuff like this all over the backsides of panels on a Corvette. Most is crayon type markers, but some are etched/scratched in. I have similar markings above my fuel tank, also.

I have something similar on one of my door panels. I forget which one and exactly what it said because its been a while, but it was a name and I believe a town in CA with a date. Thought it was pretty crazy! Nice to see I'm not the only one!
