Vette(s): 71 Colonnade Hardtop Coupe Torch Red with black interior originally L48 built to push around 360hp

Have any of you used Volunteer? I ordered a bunch of my interior parts from them and they were great. Carpeting and seat covers top of the line. All the fore mentioned company's have quite a share of my hard earned money and so far none of them have given me any sort of hassle, (yet). Terry

Mid America had much better personalized customer service before they turned into a huge corporation. They have turned into just another big impersonal American company now. I just recently discovered that Mid America turned over a copy of my 68-82  Headlight/Wiper Door Vacuum System Troubleshooting Guide over to Vette Magazine who proceeded to publish some of my copyrighted drawings in their magazine and on their website.  Got a lame letter of apology from Mid America and Vette Magazine has just ignored me so far. Guess it's time to get a lawyer.

I like the Mid america event and have been fortunate to have purchased items I thought at a fair price without any issue to date. A good company thatt i have ordered parts from in the past is Corvette Central in Michigan, I have had good experiences with them as well. I try to buy stuff somewhat local. There is a place in a small town (Knightstown, Indiana) that is growing leaps and bounds called "The Paddock". They specilize in perfomance parts and have just begun to carry a full line of vette parts as well. To date they are attempting to be less expensive in parts by comarison of what vette items they have. They have monthly cruise - ins with open house and entertainment throughout the summer. I think good ol Mike Yager will soon have another contender to deal with at their present rate of growth.

I have purchased more Parts from Ecklers than any of the other Vette Parts Providers. I will have to say that there Shipping is Slow. Seeing that they are in Florida and I'm in Washington might have something to do with it but If I want something from them I am in no hurry at all. I realise that they have a Speedy Order Plan at an additional Cost but I refuse to use it. At the other end of the Scale is Summit Raceing, they must fill the Orders an Hour after its placed 24/7 cause Ground Shipping has it to my Door in 2 days everytime. Richard....

A friend of mine gave me an Ecklers catalog when I got my first C3 and have used them just about exclusively ever since with no complaints. Only problem has been with the quality of a couple of parts, power window switches and hood release cables, neither of which lasted much over a month. They readily swapped out the switches with equally lousy parts. I ended up going with GM factory switches and cables which have lasted for years.

Overall a top flight outfit. I hate to think how much dough I have spent there!!!!

Here is my 2 cents worth.

I found the complete opposite with Ecklers vs Corvette America. Maybe you have to be half way around the world for it to work

I had no end of trouble getting acknowledgement from Ecklers and had to follow up with phone calls cos my e-mails were slipping through their system. Mind you I was dealing with their International/export person who was probably swamped with local work.

So I went to Corvette America, and although I'll admit to not sampling every suppleir out there, the product turns up bloomin quick and at a fair price. I had to get them to stop sending me a catalogue each time though, those suckers weight a tonne when you're shipping light stuff.

myT71 & all others that might be interested-I tried out Volunteer. I ordered some parts from them, so far I'm impressed. They label and seperate each item you order. Well, I mostly ordered smaller parts than you did. I am replacing the bushings and washers in my clutch assembly, transmission mount, cotter pins, screws, etc. Everything looked like good quality. I put in another order which should be here by Wednesday. Everything seems positive so far!! If I get any negatives, I'll post it in...........
