LukesVette, here are a couple pics of my cover installed.  I used a pop rivet on each side to install mine.  The velcro idea sounds neat though.

Actually I had mine on until recently when I was changing valve cover gaskets.  When I put everything back, I just didnt reinstall it.  I can't tell any difference at all in it being off but the distributor sure looks naked without it.

Vette(s): 1982 Black, ZZ4, Hooker Side Pipes, 3.55 Rear, Rebuilt & upgraded 700R4, All new suspension, brakes, & new Charcoal interior.
I have Velcro holding mine on, comes off & on easily.

If you stop the wipers so the blades are vertical then you can slide the cover on pretty easily.

Thats what i was looking for! Much thanks Dave, now i am sold on it too.

This morning i had a minor fuel leak, and built up a small took kit that i carry in that space.  Putting it there keeps saves me some of that little space they give us in the back.  Another trick, if anybody is interested, is that I keep a duffel bag in the back, in case i need to use the luggage rack unexpectedly.  I put the shoulder straps through the luggage rack, holding anything i need in perfect place with no small size restrictions.

As much as i drive this 32 year old classic (400+ miles a week), its great to be able to carry a tool kit with me, and now it will be completely hidden from view!

Vette(s): 1974, 454 with 4 on the floor, matching numbers.
I've had one on mine for the last 3 years. I also used velcro and it stays on.
I had to make a very slight adjustment to the opening for the wiper, took 2 min. looks good.
It also help hide my ignition capacitor box quite well.

i put one on my 75. have to secure it down though. was tricky getting on and you wouldn't want to hear what was being said. then the light bulb lit up and i turned on wipers and turned key off as they hit top of stroke. lifted one arm at a time and went right on. looks great.

Several places sell the stick-on chrome tape for the top of our late-model C-3 Distributor covers.

I don't have mine, didn't come with the car, but they look like some 16 year old kid cut them out with a dull pocket knife.

What the h.e.l.l was the General thinking?  Charge more for the car and save a nickel or two on one of the most recognizable engine pieces on any car.
