In 1973 I traded a '74 Vega and $1,100 for a '68 L-79 4spd Marina Blue Roadster. After 2 yrs and gas going up to 35.9 per gallon, couldn't afford it (made $7 per hour and single) so I sold it. After 40 yrs and a '75, '86, '90, '98, '06, '98, '10, '12 vettes.........I returned to my first vette love.........'68 Rally Red Roadster.
So I've had my latest '68 C3 5 months and still have my last '98 Torch Red Roadster for one with the modern touch.
God Bless, rick

I just save my C3 from the salvage yard right before Christmas. A guy was going to scrap her because of suspension broken on right front and some other minor damage due to bein stolen and wrecked into a police cruiser. While I am here would you recommend going back stock on suspension or upgrade?

14 years this February.

Definitely a record for me. I'm usually chomping at the bit after 3 yrs. to get rid of a vehicle. I pretty much come to the conclusion I'll probably die with this car.

Bought the 73 on 9/11/01 because it was built the same month as my daughter was born. It was not as good as a basket case. The thought was to rebuild it and give it to her. Long story shortened, after several thousand dollars and almost as many hours, she and her husband came to visit and looked at it. They looked at it for about 20 seconds and commented "that s nice". Then her husband said that it would be hard for him to drive in traffic because it did not have an automatic. I still have it and intend to keep it.

I ordered my '80 in August 1979 and pick it up at the dealer in December 1979.
Wow, 34 years and a 30,577 miles - all mine!
