My car is running cool and the passengers side floor is warm after running on th highway. The drivers side is a different story, my feet cook! The heat shields are in place. Any ideas?

Yeah, I have an idea... sell your C3 and get a C5!

I'm having the same problem in my '73. I put the air flow selector on the upper windshield defrost and that seem to help some. But when I turn the selector to the "off" position it cooks my feet! Could it be vacuum?

Just a thought but have you tried wrapping the exhaust with header wrap ?

Have you checked for any leaks in the exhaust manifold area?

I am having the same problem with my 79. Just this past weekend I changed my thermostat and put in a 195 degree thermostat. I have only driven it for about an hour since then,
but it does not seem to get as hot, although it's still warm. My temperature gauge was going into the red after about an hour of driving, and on this last trip it didn’t get close. I don't know if that really made a difference or not.

Put a drop light in the engine compartment, both sides, and get inside and pull the carpet back. You will likely find a few holes that at high speeds drives laser-like hot air into the compartment and onto your feet. Mine did. So I put grommets back in where they fell out and filled the other little holes. Then I pulled the seats out, pulled the carpet back and installed the insulated heat reflective foil stuff throughout the interior of the car where the carpet covered. It made a huge difference.
I also made sure the insulation that goes over the radiator was there and put a strip of rubber weatherstrip across the ledge in front of the wiper grilles so the hood seal meets it.
