Gunther,

I captured the URL from your original post, went directly to it in a fresh browser window, saved the pic on to my PC, then uploaded it into my folder space. POOF! It worked. Here is the line of code that worked (replace the "?" with "|").

I don't know why this line of code won't work. Adam, any thoughts?

Gunther,

I think I know why you could see the original picture and no one else could. It was in your IE temporary cache area. After going to fetch your picture from the CorvetteForum it magically appeared in your original post when I scrolled to the top of the thread. It still doesn't answer why you can't display it out the C3VR personal files area.

Yeah, because the file that was uploaded has spaces in the name not underscores.
In other words the file is called:
"my Vette new left side 1.JPG"

He should delete the file, and rename it on his hard drive so there are no spaces, then re-upload it.

Thanks Adam,
You found the problem.
I didn't realize this because the corvetteforum file automatically underlines spaces.
I will change this for this forum.
At least, NORSKY got my car pic showing, even it's not the last updated pic.
I added a rear luggage rack to it. My better half liked the look, so I had to do it.
Not easy to drill holes into an otherwise perfect panel. |dead|
NORSKY, your radio is on the way.

Gunther,
Now that is a REALLY nice pic of a beautiful Maroon Vette. Well, it looks maroon to me. Where did you get the chrome gills? I can not find them anywhere.

Hi
Glenns, are you referring to the side fender louvers as gills ?
They where installed when I got the car. I know 68 shouldn't have them, but lot's of people retrofitted them in 69 when they where avail over the counter.
As you can see, also the STINGRAY script is added to the fenders.
I like it this way as lots of people now recognize the car ( by reading the name ).
This eraly C3 are not so common in Europe and not everybody knows what he sees.
I did see this Louvers in CORVETTE WORLD catalogue, complete set for 189 $, or 23 each.
I also found them already on E-bay, still expensive.
Yes, the colour can possibly be called maroon, or not ?
It's a cherry dark metallic red. I do have the GM spec , it's not original to Vettes.
This car was originally british green.
Sooner or later it will be dark black. I like black cars and the chrome realy comes out fine on them.
I also very much like your car, red is a beautifull colour for a Vette.

Hiya Gunther,
Well, no matter what color, you still have a fine lookin' ride. Your gills look like they are actually chrome. The factory ones ( like mine ) are brushed and polished aluminum ( or so I have been told ). I have seen chrome plated gills on cars around here and the chrome REALLY looks good. Problem is, everyone I ask says the same thing you did, " they were on there when I bought the car". You are right about chrome against black paint. Debbie's "Rosie" car is gong to be black also. I can't wait to see the pics on both your cars.
Glenn
