Vette(s): 1969 convertible L71 427/435 4-speed black interior
At the first all Vette show I attended, the lady with a C5 parked next to my car was cleaning inside the lug nut recesses in her wheels with a Q-Tip! I don't keep my house that clean!

When I saw that, I knew I could never win top prizes with my car. I want to keep my cars neat and clean, but going that far is too much for me.

Funny you ask this question:

Double T is a very nice driver but not a show car.  I attended a rather large car show outside New Orleans yesterday called the Legends Car Show-Vette Show and I tell you I could hardly stomach this show.  They had numerous really first class beautiful cars and it was very disappointing to see all these C6 Vettes, I am talking 2006, 2007 win Best of Show, Best Paint, etc. when someone has taken years out of their life and really built some beautiful vehicles to lose to that type of BS.  There were (3) C2's under water for weeks totally brought back to life and gorgeous after Hurricane Katrina and did not get any recognition.

I don't see how a 2006/2007 is a Legend?  I won't go to that BS show again-Promise!

I did win Best Of Show last Year at Ford Fun Weekend judged by Ford Judges from cross country with my '67 Shelby, so I have been around  the block.  That car has placed well in the few shows I put her in.  Sorry Joel, I do have a musturd.  I love all cars not just GM!!  Two friends helped me do a ground up resto, 3 years to do and plenty of dinero!

Good Luck! G

Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
Mine is a driver. I bought it in sept. 03 first show was at the end of july 04 in coos bay oregon. at the time it was the longest drive i had taken in the vette, 350 miles one way down 101 along the coast, alone, top down, chambered pipes singin', wind blowing through my hair, yes hair only got one. it was a three day event, knew no one. at saturdays show and shine there was 85 vettes, 12 to 15 C3's.  Well on sunday at the awards luncheon, I was chosen 1st place in the C3 class. that was amazing because I always think everyone elses cars are way better looking than mine.  second show was the following year in june Tigard oregon, about 100 vettes, took home a nice plague and my steve from C3vr, and a very nice vette club, wish i lived closer, that one meant alot because it was the first one my wife went to. I was also at the Skynomish meet were cilrah stole, I mean won first place. that was a great show because there was 5 C3vr members that went. This last year we went to the tigard show again and had a great time with out winning, so if any one is keeping score i guess you can say i am 50/50. in reallity i am a winner because i got a vette and a wife and they are both winner in my book. thank you for letting me share.
