I shouldn't be posting this but I do need to get it off my back. I had my hood redone on my 82CE.The GM decal had seen better days. There is really no way of telling you just how awsome it looks.!!!!and no way that a picture would do justice. Suffice it to say that this is the way GM should have done it.(like my hatch hinges). With my blessing my bodyman had artistic freedom without overdoing it.He did say that it is impossiable to paint a transparant decal like the one GM used.He first shot it with the silver/beige and went with the matalic brown letting some of the silver/beige show through. My jaw hit the ground when I saw it.I'm so pleased and it's all on the insurance co. dime. Really it's something you NEED to see in person. A picture would only confuse you.(is that the lighting, filtered sun, just can't quite figure it out) I know, next year have the gathering down around south GA.

That sounds so awsome Mike, really wish we could see it in a picture. I know how some people are with paint, if they have the talent they can work wonders
I know an old American Indian here in the NW who is a pinstripper from the 60's, he can work wonders with ghost flames.

Congrats Mike. It's just so cool when something works out just the way you wanted it - or better! Especially when someone else is footing the bill!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

GM used decals because they were quick and cheap. They did actually attempt to paint them, but it was decided it was too much trouble for the painters on the line, IE: $$$$
I'm glad you got someone to paint it, and you're happy....pics would still be nice, justice or not!
