Well, I sold the C3 (1974 Red Coupe) on Monday. I had four cars and two garage stalls, so something had to give. While my car ran well, it needed a lot of detail work and general repair..a bit of a rat rod actually. It has gone to a good home, a couple with two other corvettes who were looking for a restoration project. My car was the right car at the right time at the right price. Plus, they have a really cool garage "condo" to work on their cars. I got to thinkng about the C3 and why it seems to appeal to so many. With the exception of the '82, it was the last of the basic Corvettes. It is the last of the breed that can still be tuned and serviced with a few basic tools. Major re-construction is easily within the reach of a reasonably competent mechanic. Because my C4 is so much more complex, it looks like my timing light is going to be gathering dust again on a shelf in my garage.

The 2 C3s at the show got more attn than anything else there. Like one guy said, This was the car we all wanted in H.S.

Sorry ya had to downsize the collection, Wally...What ya needed was a bigger garage!

It's nice to hear it went to a good home, at least.

" This was the car we all wanted in H.S." Funny you should say that. That is exactly what the couple said when they bought the car.

Wally,
Sorry to hear you let it go. It sounds like it's in good hands, though.

Maybe someday you'll have enough room to get one back Wally. But don't worry, we'll still let you stay here!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
