Vette(s): 1976 Corvette, originally dark green, currently black with grey cloth interior. Very nice shape!
Ok, i may be blind, but where the HECK are the fuses located?? I see in the owners manual a nice picture of them, but where are they??? In particular, i need to know where the fuse is for the cig lighter, clock and courtesy lights. I know they're all controlled by the same fuse.

Any help is appreciated!

Brian

Under the dash, drivers side where your feet would be...up high to the left.

Open the door wide, and scoot the seat all the way back. Then you can craw up under there to see!! It helps to have a light, and good close-up vision! I can't see anything clearly when I get up under a dash...old eyeballs, coupled with old glasses...

I had the same problem with my 77 last year.  The Chevy dist and two different garages couldn't find it.  It's right where everyone above said it is..  It's a b**** to find and work on but its there.

It's where these guys say it is IR. You must be very nimble and it helps to be small, I'm not, happy hunting, Gene

Now that you know where it is, you'll also find that if the clock, cig lighter and courtesy light don't work it's not necessarely a fuse.  The cig lighter itself goes bad once in a while, so there might be juice, but the little spring or something is clogged (replace it, just the part you push in).

As for the clock, there's many post in here that you can search for, but basically, since it's an electric clock, there is a "point" that has a tendency to burn/melt and the movements might be in need of a little oil.

And for the courtesy light; bad light bulb ?

All 3 could be bad, but not necessarely the fuse and it would by typical!  Have fun!

The cig lighter has a blade plug on the bottom it that could be loose.  It happens if someone has been fooling around in the console.
