I am restoring a 77 and need a new set of weatherstripping. The
option for the T-Top strip is 18 or 19 pins. I think 18 is early
and 19 late. How do i determine weither mine is early or late
77? I guess I could always count the pins on mine but I would
like to know anyway.
Thanks,
Tony

The trim tag on your door jamb gives the assembly date, though it's coded. Post it and someone here can tell you what that date is and you can go from there.

Post the info from the trim tag, located at the front of the driver door area. It will have the assembly date.

The Late 77 vette has the cross flags on the front fender. The early 77vette don't have an emblem there. Then again the previous owner could have made some modifications.

Regarding the weather stripping, it might have depended what parts they had on hand at the time of assembly.
The safest way to be sure you get the right parts is to count the pins.

the easiest way to tell if it is a late or early 77 is to look at the drivers side fender. In early 77 the alarm switch was on the fender, on late 77 it was relocated to be in the door lock. If you have a key slot on the fender it's an early 77. Mike

In 1977 early vette engines were orange, late vette engines were blue. Gene
