Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
I had a 65 SS Impala, and would like to have one again. There are three in the first few pictures. There is a lot of money sitting in the pastures of America....

THere's a red '74 big block at the end of my neighborhood. It's in the driveway with 2 flats and hasn't moved in the 6 years we've lived at this house. It occasionally collects crap - weed wackers, cleaning stuff (not for it - for the daily driver!). My daughter calls it the lonely red shark.
We make a point of waving to it every time we drive by to make it feel better.

WOW! WHAT AN AWESOME SITE. BESIDES MY VETTE, I ALSO HAVE A 64 CHEVELLE THAT I FOUND IN A SIMILIAR CONDITION TO MOST OF THESE CARS. I NOW HAVE A 6TH SENSE, AND KNOW WHERE EVERY OLD CAR IN MY AREA IS.

There was a 1963 split window vette sitting in a yard a few miles from where I worked. I went and knocked on the door like so many others had before me. I thought by the look on the older lady’s face that she was annoyed even before I opened my mouth to ask about the car. She turned out to be very nice and let me look at the car. The hood was off and a lot of the engine parts were off and sitting in the passenger area and back area of the car. There was a tree growing up though the engine compartment that was about 4 inches in diameter. Tells you about how long it's been there. The story was the same, it was her car when she was younger and she did not want to sell it because she was going to restore it. I asked if it was for sale for any price and she said no. I suggested she cover it up and get it off of the dirt and onto the driveway to help keep the frame from rusting. I saw it there for another 6 years and since changed jobs and didn't get by there. Only about 3 weeks ago my wife and I were driving in the country and ended up close to that area so I drove by and it was gone. Either she finally restored it or someone got it. I hope it got a good home.
Maybe she liked the fact that folks would stop and talk to her?
