What a shame!!! Only 23,000 miles on it. I tryed many times to buy it, but the owner just woun't sell it. All original numbers matching sm block with 4sd, side pipes and knockoffs. Just rotting away. I also know of a 71 LT1 doing the same thing. I will try to get some pictures of that soon. Same story on it. Any one else know of any cars like this just waisting away. Let us know. Oh...there is also a 1969 SS Camaro sitting behind the Vette.

Tony,
There can't be any logical excuse for this. I can't believe this crap. Everything has it's price. You said you try to buy this car several times. What did you offer ? you must have more info on why he/she isn't selling.
They can't be stupid people, they must be functioning, self supporting, and educated. It looks like they own thier own home.
WHY WON'T THEY SELL ?????? Things like this drive me nuts.

I've been trying for the past 5 years. I'm going to restore it some day is the answer I get. I would a least cover it so as not to drive people like me crazy.

Thanks for the quick reply Tony,
I really hope they do restore it someday or at least let somebody like you have it to restore. I wouldn't mind having the Camaro either. Keep trying Tony don't give up. Keep hounding them until it's yours.

Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
I say we all chip in and come up with enough money to take it away from him and "give it a better home"!

Well here is the 1971 LT1. Just sitting since 1979 (Last inspection sticker on it) Perfect never hit body, but the paint is SHOT!!!! 4sd, PS,PB, shoulder harness. The interior is original with steering wheel, high rev tach and radio. It's starting to crack on the dash and door panels because of the summer heat and being closed up and UNCOVERED!!!! The engine is original with it valve covers and holley carb. Another great old Vette thats going more down hill every year it sits. Again I have been trying to buy this one, but I get the same answer...I'm going to restore it some day.
Yea right??? some day never comes for some people!

People who do this wouldn't know how to even begin restoring them. I have found that typically people have some kind of sentimental bond with the car but don't want to admit it. So they say they are going to "restore" it. When what they mean is: "I don't want to sell it".

Electron Blue, black interior

Turbo 400 (w shift kit)
posi rear 3.08 gears
i found mine like that. Although the previous owner and my father were old friends.. I asked him one day out of the blue... you sellin the vette? he said "I wanted to restore it, but its not getting any attention here, take a look at it; if you dont want it, I'll keep it" went to look at it that nite. car sat for 6 years in a dry barn; brought a new battery. fired right up. wrote the check and drove it home that nite.
