Working on replacing all of my decals with nice shinny new ones.

I have a 78 L48, but I do not see a CAUTION FAN decal on mine.
Does anyone know if I should have one?
Thanks as always!

The '73s and '79-'80(w/L82 - A/C) cars should have a yaller "Caution Fan" decal on the shroud. The '81-'82s did too.
The one exception I have found from '74-'78 was for export cars. The AIM shows the decals were installed on the export cars, but not on the domestic ones. Go figure...

The NCRS Judging Manual might answer your question. There are two caution stickers on my 80 L-82: one on the top side of the shroud visible from the engine compartment, and one on the bottom of the shroud by the auxillary fan flapper door which can only be read from underneath.

Go figure. Looks like GM did not want to be sued by a mechanic if the car was on a lift and the engine was running.

The one on the bottom is the one the judges will be looking for.

As has been stated, NO fan warning decals on the 78s. On my 79s, there are warning decals on the topside and underneath like on 6880mike's 80. These 2 decals are more cautioning about the auxiliary electric fan that may start with the motor off.
