The wave will live on and as a matter of fact, about a month ago I was driving the Vette with the T-Tops off and two females in a VW Conv. did wave and gave such a great smile towards me. It felt great that these two ladies did not drive a Vette, but they did understood and respected the Vette.
to those two ladies.

With the bill of sale on all Corvettes sold old or new, there should be a contract by law that you have to sign that explains that you are required to wave to ALL Corvettes seen on the road while driving your Corvette.

Well....we are now owners of C3s and a C5 (my wife, she has the bug worse that I do), and we will continue to wave because we are Corvette Lovers.

I always wave at all Vettes I see.
Sometimes they don't wave back.
Usually they didn't see me.
If they saw me wave and they didn't wave back, I just figure they are uneducated, not ignorant or A-holes.
Maybe if enough Vette drivers wave to them, they will get it.
I have a Save the Wave licence plate for the front, but New York State won't let me use it.

Vette(s): Previous: 1984 Coupe, 1988 Maroon Coupe, 1989 Coupe, 2001 Roadster Present: 1967 Stingray Roadster, 1976 Stingray Coupe, 1989 Roadster..
I take it kind of personal when folks start bashing other Corvette Drivers for not waving. (keyword being drivers)
I hate it when folks sterotype other folks.... I am a C5 owner, have owned a C4, and own a C3. I wave at all other Vettes if I see them. I am Passionate about being a Corvette Enthusisiast.
Not everyone feels the same as I do nor should I expect them too be. It doesn't make them dumb, stupid. or jerks. It does make them individuals though with a choice to choose.
We should educate those in the Corvette Community who are unaware of the History of the Wave.
This is by far a better approach than sterotyping unjustly or name calling someone in a passing vehicle for not reacting as we would wish them too.
I remember way back when I had no idea why all of these folks kept waving at me. I am not sure that my wife and I waved back to all of them.
Likewise, I sure hope that I don't pass someone in a C3 and I don't see them and therfore don't wave.
With a little luck maybe they will catch me at the next gas station and we can talk some and become friends.....
Just my $.02.......

I'm with Dave on this one, if we are close enough I'll give em a thumbs up also, sometimes if it's a preppie they are like wow you givin me a thumbs up and I'll get it back, others times it's just this confused look that makes me chuckle
. Either way it does not hurt to wave, maybe they will get it.

Also I get waves from the street rod guys going down the road also, they get the "Old Car" faternity I think.
Years ago my wife had a guy in a non vette wave....she waved back......(Strawberry Blonde in a White Vette)......he turned around and followed her home
Geesh
