As has been said, I prefer them to be the way Zora built them. That being said, from there, it would all depend on the condition of the car as it sits. If it is an original car, or dang close to it, my opinion is it should stay that way. If the car has been modified, or is just too far gone from original, then have at it, and do whatever YOU want.
In general, I would much rather see originality, but tasteful mods are also nice.

From a cosmetic point, I prefer the stock look, but for driveability and safety - my preference is modern parts, where available at replacement time. That's what I prefer, but drive what I can afford.

My 74 had the front and rear bumpers modified when I bought it. The previous owner had replaced the cracked urethane bumpers with fiberglass ones. They were tastefully molded in and the rear has a spoiler and frenched tail lights look. I like the way it looks and is one reason I bought it. I have modified the engine somewhat to hopefully give it a little more git-up-and-go, and also to look a little better. This being a 74, it isn't like it was a chrome bumper car... I definitely wouldn't modify one if I had it. I wanted to personalize my car so that it doesn't
look exactly like everyone elses, yet keeps the general styling of a C3 Corvette.

I prefer a stock look, that is, original type body panels. I think upgrades to the drive train, suspension and brakes are fine. I like the look the way Zora did it.

Whenever something needs to be changed I keep it stock. I purchased it stock #s matching I will keep it that way.

As the original owner of a 1969, numbers matching car, I ran a stop sign in 1972 and wiped out the front end. I was young and the entire nose was replaced with that from a 1970. At that time it didn't bother me but now it does. I'm getting quotes to bring it back to it's original look. Last spring I had the engine removed and redone including shields etc. Looks good when the hood is popped.
Now to get rid of that non shark nose. Can't wait.

Well I have a situation like a few others. One with very low mileage, that I keep stock.
The other came with the motor just "freshined" to a 383. So now I plan to put some "ebo" touches to it. I'm thinkin of putting the "Gull Wing" door kit on it just to be a bit different.

I just hate it when I see a C3 that was modified way over the top. "What was that guy thinking??!"
I think C3's are great looking cars and, for the most part, look their best as is.
Sometimes I see a few tasteful mods that work, IMO.
Mine is a '79. Not a big $$$ car. One day I hope to have around 300HP under the hood with a 700-R4 tranny. If that upsets a purist I won't let it bother me. No dreams of changing the body, though.
