Is it possible to track the day of production from the VIN? I don't have any books that help me with this.
I've tracked the production dates of the major components but not the car itself. All I know is that mine was within the last 1% of all 71s produced, making it darn near a 72.
Appreciate any input. sundevil

The data plate on the door jamb should gve you an assembly date code. I don't know if it's 100% accurate, but should be within a day of the car's final completion.

Well, duhhh!
Now why didn't I think of that? Guess I've been spending far too much time UNDER the car instead of INSIDE!

I'll check it out. Thanks, Bruce!

A Brit company would have simply retittled any late production unsold cars still on a dealers lot!!

Lot's of things happen to titles. Give me your Vin and I will tell you when they built it.
Daily Production of the 1971 Vettes stopped on July 16 1971.
The last car that left the plant was #21801
The 72's started production on August 16, 1971. They made 112 the first day.

I know the date Tux.. was born. What I don't know is the date that he died. I know when he was resurrected. I have the receipts to prove that. Just ask my wife...
