Hi Norsky |wavey| The link you provided worked great |thumb| I checked them out and their rates are competitive with Hagerty. Since I have been with Hagerty a few years now and am a satisfied customer I will stay with them. Thanks for your help. |cheers| |cheers|

Really? So do I,but my premium is around $30 more for $9000 coverage! I'm going to be switching as soon as I get the premium together,to Grundys.I made the mistake of telling Collectors what I got the vette for, before I asked to increase the coverage to what its really worth..just shy of $15,000,& they wont cover it for more than I paid! |eek| Can someone explain THAT to me,please! |cussing|

With my insurance, American Collectors, they would only cover agreed value for what I paid for it in the first year of coverage. After that they would cover for agreed value for whatever amount I stated.I am in my second year with them and when my renewal statement came in the mail they raised the agreed value by $500 without me asking. I thought that was cool. Must be an inflation thing or something and my rate did not go up. |cheers| |wavey|

I am in my 4th yaer with them...the 1st 3 were for my '77,& this is my 1st full year with the '79.I already know about the $500 a year increase, but I figure they have to start from my new agreed value.Right now I'm only between $9000-$9500.TOO LOW! |cussing| |no-no|

I have resigned myself to the fact that I will not be able to get collector insurance for the simple reason that I only have 1 car. Even though it's not a daily driver (don't need one here in NYC) I can't qualify.

I did find out that State Farm offers a "Stated Value" policy. Car has to be insured already for at least a year. Mine was just put on the road last Oct so I don't qualify for that yet and they can't put a quote together until I qualify.

Man - this is tough.. |hammer|

Vette(s): 1969 C3 Coupe. Was an L-46 now a ZZ3 w/M-21 4-speed, manual steering and brakes, 3.70 Posi. Red with Balck interior, non-numbers matching.
I have my 69' Coupe insured for 20K thru Allstate- All they required was a third party appraisal.
While my premium for 20K is about $330 for 6 months, it has a $50 deductible for comp/collision and it doesn't have the unrealistic 2500 mile/year milage limitation (it's my daily driver).
Besides, I only drive it during the summer so the other 6 months only costs me about $100 while it's in storage.
My other car (1970 442 W-30) is insured thru American for about 23K and costs $165 a year- But again, it's collectors insurance with the < 2500 miles/year stipulation.
It all depends on what you plan to do with the car.
