Steve, I know that it has been done but Ive never seen it done. From what I understand it is not a simple bolt on job and there is quite a bit of work to be done. I would love to have a chrome bumper car too, but personally, I wouldnt bastageize my vette to have one.

I bought a parts car that someone had done it to. You must replace the back six inches of the body shell with the correct one. In front, the hood surround is different, as are the front fenders and lower valance. That only leaves you with figuring out the bumper brackets, etc. You would have to want one real bad, and have a parts car to do it.

I don't know if doing that kind of a replacement would violate any federal safety rules regarding the bumpers. I'd suggest doing a little research on that issue before beginning the project.
