Vette(s): None yet but looking for a '71 or '72 Roadster, 4spd
Hey Everyone,

I'm thinking of going to CA to take a look at and potentially purchase a C3 out there. One of my friends told me that someone underwent a 'saga' when he purchased his C3 out there, drove it to NY in order to take it back to England. Does anyone have any more information about this, ie. has it saved or can point me to a link about it? I used the search feature but could not find a thread relating to it.

Thanks in advance!

Marek

Not familiar with the saga to the UK, but driving across country sure sounds like a fabulous adventure. Several of our members drive mega miles to our annual gatherings. Hope I have the chance to do the same one day Thumbs%20Up. Please keep us posted on your story and good luck.

Both DaveM and I can tell you about our trip from NY/NJ to CA and back in 2006.
And I believe Norsky knows someone from Europe that journied oner here a few years ago.

If you are planning to purchase a C3 in CA and drive it home, make sure it is road worthy.
Then pick a route and look up all the C3VR members along the route and get their cell phone numbers in case you have any problems along the way.

It should be a great adventure.

Hey Deuce,
Cross Country in a Corvette sounds COOL!!!

And I'd bet you'd be able to hook up with some C3VR members on your 'saga.'

Keep us posted.

I  Believe it was PigPen,It seems to me he bought a Vette in California or somewhere out west, and travelled back across route 66,he came East, and stopped in Ohio to meet up with Kstyer.then kept coming East to N.Y. or N.J.,had his Vette loaded into a container and I think had it shipped home,I think he lived in England, not sure.Kstyer has kept in touch with him,he is a real nice guy, haven't heard from him lately though

Who knows, maybe you can get a few of us to escort you along the way. You're never alone when you have these guys behind you. Keep us posted on your search and anticiapted trip through the US.

It sounds like a blast! Thumbs%20Up
