Can you guys recommend a good restoration manual?

Today I tried to take off the front bumper and didn't get too far, the upper bolts just want to spin, going to have to cut them out and they are burried in there tight.    Next is to get ready to remove the whole front clip, but I am going to need some insight from a good restoration manual.

Thanks In Advance for your reply,

Steven

Find a copy of the AIMs for your year. Lots of drawings on how it was put together at the factory.

Do you need to remove the front clip?  If not, my advice is to leave it on.

There is no single volume for a restoration.  Buy several of those available, read through each, and compile your own list of what you want to do.

If you don't have the assembly instruction manual (AIM) and the GM service manual, get a copy of each before you get too very far along with the project.

I would like to second the comment of 6880Mike.  I have never seen a front clip removed without doing considerable damage to the clip and/or the car itself.  And sometimes cracks don't show up until later.  If you are thinking of taking the body off the frame, you can easily do that with the front clip intact.  Basically, don't remove any bonded-on panels that you don't want to replace.

Not that I have ruined any myself... this week.
