Well my quest for cruzin is delayed once again. The vette was due to go out this weekend for it's maiden voyage of the '03 season. Now because of a dumb A$$ idiot that decided he was going to pound a front wheel bearing out of a Ford "POS" minivan near my vette. I now have 2 bullet hole looking marks in my windshield. I just hope the windshield frame is solid. I don't need to have a "can of worms" opened right now.

Adam- Yup, he said that he would take care of everything. My buddy that owns the shop said this guy was almost literally in tears. He didn't want to deal with me for fear I was gonna hit him. That made me laugh. I'm a little old for that sort of thing. Besides, he doesn't need to worry about me...it's my girlfriend he has to worry about. And she doesn't even own the car.

Garry- Thanks for the headsup on glass thickness. That stinks. What are the glass company's really benefiting by making the glass thinner? Isn't this kind of compromising occupant safety? Thinner = weaker.

the thinner glass is to help get the weight down on new cars and i guess its just easier for the glass companies to make replacement glass the same thickness. just roll down a side window on a newer car and you can feel how much thinner they are then your window. i'll bet it knocks of at least 2 or 3 ounces on the weight of a new car. |laugh|

I ordered a replacement windshield for my '69 from Zip products. As far as I could tell it was properly date-coded and was the correct thickness. Give them a call.
