How do I find out how many 1972's were built with the same colors, accessories, etc. as mine? I bought mine new, & it was born June 7, 1972.

That's really cool that you are the original owner. Not many people with the older cars can say that. Mine's a '79 and I'm the 4th owner!

Hi Arnie, try the Corvette Black Book. It shows 20,496 coups.

The best you can hope for is to narrow down the possibilities....GM did not keep records like that,a s they do now. It's really just a guess, and doing the numbers, you could get close.

I agree with Joel...no such data base exists to anyone's knowledge. The best you can do is get the numbers from the Corvette Black Book and work the percentages. That's the SWAG method...Scientific Wild-A$$ed Guess...that's the closest you'll get.

Yeah...they never intended to keep up with how many had this or that particular combination. We can determine how many were painted this or that color for most years(but not all), and how many had this or that interior color, base/optional engines, trans, etc. Then it's just a matter of crunching numbers to get a semi-round about kinda close idea of how many may have had this exact combo.

Hey Arnie, Welcome to the forum.
Glad to have another 72 Coupe on board.
Congratulations for "hanging on" to her for almost 40 years.

I bought my 72 in 73. I'm the second owner, I think.

Join up and post a picture. As you can see by the response you received it is an active site with lots of knowledge. On long weekends it does get a little slow on the site. Seem we have to many people that want to have fun. LOL
