Building a race car

I am building a SCCA/ FIA style race car out of a 69 L71.  Plan to use the car for weekend street use and maybe someday going to the track.  The car has been drag raced in the past and most of the original parts are gone.  Looking for some advice.  Going with replacement brakes and suspension parts from Duntov, and debating on a crate motor.
