If it were me and I had to do a 4-wheel break job, and if I had the money, I would go with a good after market break job like Wilwood or US Brake, bigger rotors and calipers, when you add larger wheels and tires even though outside dia. might be the same as your stock wheel and tire you sometimes change the dynamic's and rolling mass of the car needing an upgraded breaking sys., remember you want to be able to stop as good as you accelerate.

Vette(s): 1972 Coupe Anything, but Stock and more mods to come! SSBC Force 10 Brakes, 3.73, TH350, 355 CID, Rack and Pinion, Vette Brakes suspension front and rear.

I agree, if you have the money and are running larger rims and need brakes upgrade.  SSBC has a kit for large diameter wheels as does wilwood, Van Steel, and VBP.

This is probably the reason you are wearing out the AC brakes and rotors.

As far as the transmission goes it all depends on gear ratio and other modifications.  Overall the th400 is a great transmission that can withstand a lot of HP.
