On my 77' the build date is on the trim plate located on the door hinge pillar. Along with the paint code and trim code there is a letter and digit code....this is the build date.
Mine is E16, which translates to Dec 16, 1976.

Production started in Aug with A, Sept B, Oct C and so on. The digit is the day of the month.

I thought all sharks have this code on their trim plates. |eek|
Check it out...I'd like to know. |cool|

My '71's trim plate has "L 08" -- which translates to July 08, 1971 -- One of the last 600 or so made for that model year.

Thanks Joe |cool|

The build date calculator can be plus or minus a day off...the trim plate is accurate. |biggrin|

Since there are a lot of mentions of trim plates in this thread, i will ask my question here....does anyone know of anyone who makes trim plates? And how much they might cost?
