Where are the best points to jack up a C3 that has sidepipes? The sidepipes make is impossible to get a floor jack under the side rails where you're supposed to jack up the Vette at. I need to jack it up at the rear.

Not to worry, Steve. Just finished rebuilding the front and rear suspensions on my '72 with sidepipes. I slid my floor jack right in front of the rear tire behind the end of the sidepipe. There was enogh "headroom" for the contact pad on the jack to get through. Once that pad was behind the the pipe, then I just slid the whole jack forward about six inches to line it up under the sideframe/crossmember joint.
When I finished the work and set the car back down I was able to pull the jack straight out during those few seconds it took for the gas shocks to "settle".
Good luck.
