hello everyone. i have a 1978 corvette L42 and i've been looking to upgrade my entire brake system to a baer brake system (discs, calipers, etc.) and i can only seem to find discs. does anybody know if baer makes a complete kit for my car.
if not, what is the best brake system available. i'm willing to spend quite a lot so i'm open to anything. thanksBe the first to like this post

I just put on new rotors (drilled and slotted) from Pro Rotors on eBay. http://stores.ebay.com/ROTORPROS_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm
I also installed Stainless Steel sleeved Calipers from Vette Brakes. http://www.vbandp.com/. Complete drain and flush of the brake fluid.
Not my Vette stops like I threw an anchor out the window!!!

Hey mister 78,
I have a '78 and rebuilt the stock brakes on mine. Your Vette came with great brakes and if you don't plan on a whole bunch of track time, leave them stock and save a bunch of dough. They are still about the best you can get right out of the box, GM paid a bunch of high-dollar engineers to design them that way. Mine still stops like I threw an anchor out the window.......
BTW... join up, if you have a C3, there is no better site anywhere....

Baer does make a superior product. I have them on my Camaro but then again that's a 400+ HP car that sees occasional track duty. I also have never seen a complete system offered for the C3 Corvette. You might be happy doing a rotor upgrade with some good new pads (Hawk HPS are my pick), a fluid flush (ATE Super Blue) and maybe adding some stainless steel hoses
