A few years ago we were on a mystery weekend trip with our club and on 95 down in MD the L/F tire blew at about 65MPH. With dumb luck got the car onto the shou;der without hitting anything but the tire just about blue the nose off of the car. Put the spare on the car which after 16 or so years still had 19 psi, got off the interstate and found a Goodyear dealer and bought 4 tires. My friend Rob English, who ownes Restoration Connection, was with me and when we started looking at the car on the lift and realized how much damage was done to the nose, decided on the spot to do the whole car. I took the money we got from American Collectors(unreal service, called them that Monday and adjuster called later that afternoon to look at it, had the check for Rob's estimate and then some by the next week). Well one thing led to another, we all know how that happens, and it is just about finished. What amazed Rob and myself, we have both been playing with Vettes for over 35 years was how easy the '70 came apart. Nothing on the body, interior, frame or driveline was rusted or frozen. Not complaining, just never had that happen before.

Please don't forget me Goerge. I want to see your ramp ( or at elast pics of it )before I drop almost 4 grand on the Eagle sissors lift that I am looking at. The main reason I want it is I only have 8 foot ceilings and it does not have to be bolted down.

We just had a scissors lift installed last month. It's the coolest thing. |thumb| Our ceiling wasn't high enough nor the garage wide enough for a 4-post lift. Ours is a Bend-Pak lift we bought through OnTool.

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.

I just recieved the latest catalog from Harbor Freight, and they are selling the lifts for cars now. There is one for $1999.99, by central hydraulics, that is a 7000# two post lift. The next
one is a Bend Pak brand, for $2699.99, 7000#, 4 post. Next is a 10,000# Bend pak, 2 post, for $2899.99. And last is a Bend Pak, 12,000# lift, 4 post for $2999,99. I don't know anything about them, or if that is a good price or not, but there are 4 models to help confuse everyone. |cheers|

Joe, not sure if you have already commited, but I have an "Autolifters M-6" that has not given me any trouble since installation in 1994. I do lubricate the cables, pulleys and posts with a silicone spray every six months and before pulling my 72 LT-1 under the lift, I relieve hydraulic pressure and visually inspect each post to ensure that the locking tang is properly seated. Good luck.
